OHS Training - CLC Part II and XX

As the Federal Public Sector Employers are legally required under the Canada Labour Code to prevent Violence in the Workplace and provide all employees with a safe and healthy work environment free of all types of violence including harassment and bullying; UEW is recommending the use of the Canada Labour Code (CLC) Part II, and Part XX to respond to any situation of Violence, Harassment and Bullying in the workplace.  Further details are available by contacting the national UEW office.

UEW is also strongly urging the departments to organize the training for the development and application of their Department Violence in the Workplace Policy. 

Further training is available for the LOCAL Executive officers and Stewards through the Canadian Center for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS).  The request for this training should be raised at the LOCAL / Regional and National Health and Safety Committees.

Please find the following recommended courses.  Assistance with the arrangements for the training can be provided by the Regional Vice Presidents sitting at the departmental National Health and Safety Policy Committees.
