UEW Scholarships

The Union of Environment Workers believes that everyone has the right to achieve his/her goals through education and hard work.  With this in mind, UEW offers two scholarships:


UEW MARY STEWART SCHOLARSHIP


The “UEW Mary Stewart Scholarship” was introduced in December 2011 and amended it in May 2012.  This scholarship offers a single $1,000 scholarship annually for dependent children and/or grandchildren of UEW members in good standing and for retired or deceased members who have children and/or grandchildren leaving high school and entering their first year of post-secondary school on a full-time basis in a university, college or institute of higher learning.  Application Form


UEW HUMAN RIGHTS SCHOLARSHIP

 

The "UEW Human Rights Scholarship" was introduced following the adoption of Resolution No. 30 at the 2014 UEW National Triennial Convention in Halifax.   This scholarship offers a single $1,000 scholarship annually for dependent children and/or grandchildren of UEW members in good standing and for retired or deceased members who have children and/or grandchildren, with a disability, leaving high school and entering their first year of post-secondary school on a full-time basis in a university, college or institute of higher learning.
